Position Summary

Responsible for overall direction and supervision of Martin County Child & Family Development Center. Responsible for full development of program components: Pre-school/Head Start, Family Literacy, Families Growing Together, Book Bag, Extended Care (up to age 12) and Infant/Toddler.  Responsible for contract preparation, implementation and billing such as:  Head Start, DAEL, parent fees, PAT, KERA, federal food program, and federal subsidies.  Develops these components to their fullest potential in accordance with their Outcomes model; administers all aspects of the program within the parameters of the Program Descriptions/Standards Manual; supervises and leads staff; maintains accurate and timely record keeping for finances in all facets of the program; maintains cost effectiveness and balanced budgets.

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Family Studies, Child Development or related field.

           

Experience Requirements

2-4 years of successful experience in Child Development or related field or combination of education and experience.

 

Physical Requirements

Physically able to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 50 pounds (primarily children).  The ability to sit for extended periods of time and have good visual acuity with corrective lenses and good hearing capabilities. Possess a valid Kentucky driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.  Must have or be able to obtain a non-contagious TB test result.

 

Working Conditions

Normal office and classroom environment with moderate noise level due to office equipment and children; exposure to hot and cold temperatures, human emotions, communicable disease, and travel on various types of primary and secondary roads.
